Hello, We just had to install a new boot hard drive. Used Maxtor MaxBlast to
copy files and make new drive bootable. All worked fine. Booted to new drive.
Opened Outlook and received the Receive error 0x8007007E. Tried Detect and
Repair which did not work as it's missing some .msp files. Anyone know what
to do? Thanks in advance for any help

Alan

Do you have access to the original drive? The MaxBlast software doesn't
copy everything properly. In particular, it doesn't copy
C:\Windows\Installer. See
<http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.outlook.installation/browse_thread/thread/5b3f7b7f72ebff63>
for a prior report of this.

Thanks Brian, I don have the original drive. I'll check that out tomorrow and
see if it works. Do you have any further information on your link, it seems
it may be out of date as I couldn't get to that page.

Thanks again,

Alan

Then you're out of luck. Your Windows installation has been corrupted. It
needs the C:\WIndows\Installer folder and for more than just Outlook.

Brian,

If I could type maybe all would be better. I DO have the disk. I've copied
the folder to an external and will attempt to fix the problem in the morning.
Thanks so much, I'm glad I found this Group.
