can't reboot

have old scanner, after loading software to run scanner couldn't reboot system.

loaded Adobe Photo Delux and UMAX scanner stuff which includes Presto/PAgeManager (scanning OS); Vista Scan (UMAX scanner driver an don line manuals.

I have a Dell Recovery disk only and can't get past request for Windows 2000 authentication code to finish set up
