Hey everybody

I recently purchased an MP3 player, but when I plug it
into the USB port my PC won't read it. Sometimes it will
come up as a drive for about 20 seconds but then it
disappears, other times it brings up the drive in
Explorer as "Invalid" for about 3 seconds and then
disappears also. Please help me. I am desperate and any
help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Some stats about my PC:

XP Home OS
It's a HP

Thanks everybody.

Do you have MP3 software installed on the PC? You might
list the name and model of MP3 player.

I am having basically the same problem with my DiskGo
Flash/Mp3 device. I have been through HP support and
Manu. support but no one has solved the issue. Updated
all drivers, re-installed all drivers, Chaged drive
lettering, installed patches. Works fine on other
computer with same OS. AARRGG

Try opening Regedit and see if you can find it under this location:

HKLM-System-CCS-Enum-USB

Check under each and see if you can find one with the description of
your MP3 Player. If you find it, delete the folder that it is in (the
one a directory up labeled Vid_Xxx). Reboot and try reconnecting it.
