I am trying to view and edit a presentation an associate, but PowerPoint will
not open the file, stating it can't read it. Help suggests it is not a
powerpoint file. However, I can open the file and read it with the
powerpoint viewer 2003 with ease. Unfortunately, I can't make edits with the
viewer. Why am I unable to open it with ppt2003?

First thing to check: Choose Help, Check for Updates and let MS update your
copy of PPT/Office (you'll need a live internet connection for this).

Thanks, Steve, but I've done that to no avail. For some reason these files
will not open with PPT 2003 only the viewer.
