Can't read emails in achive fle

I can see my archive file at C:\Documents and Settings\Associate\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst, and it has 2497 KB.
However, when I click on the Inbox or Sent Archive folders, there is nothing.
The Auto-Archive is set to the default settings. Why can't I get to my
archived emails?
