Can't read A; or D: drive

Recently installed Norton Systemworks 2004 and now my
computer does not read the A: drive (although the XP
diagnostic reads it correctly) and the CD drive is only
readable if the disk I want to use is in it when I start
up. Any ideas?
Thanks
