Cant Read Attachments!

When I recieve attachments via email (PDF, Excel, or even scanned in docs),
they are all unreadable. They can be opened, but are unreadable. They look
like a wingding font 9squares, circle, jibberish), but I have checked the
font out.

Can you pease advise on this.
