Since upgrading to Frontpage 2003 I have not been able to publish my web.
It comes up with the error message: "Server Error: Web server is busy.
Please try again." Or sometimes, "Web <Root Web> is busy." The Microsoft
knowledge base is of no help. Anyone else have this problem and what did
you do about it? Is this problem on the server end or on my end?

Thanks!

JG

Have you contacted your host, does the server have the FP extensions, are you running Windows XP 2?

I have tried to contact the host, and they don't respond (that's another
problem). They did have FP extensions and yes, I'm running XP2. All worked
fine before with FP 2000. It's not supposed to be this hard! Any hints?

Thanks

You need to check to see if FrontPage is listed as a exception under Windows SP2 Firewall. You may
need to add it.

Well, I was able to get my web host on the phone and he clicked a button in
the hosting control panel called 'fix frontpage' and he, well, fixed it. I
am now publishing and back in business. Only problem is that the frames
have disappeared.. I'll post that issue separately. Thanks Thomas. -

To resolve the issue call your Web hosting company and tell tem to perform
the following steps given below:

1. On the server, stop and restart the HTTP service.
2. Delete the file \Web Root\Web Name\_vti_pvt\service.lck.
3. Delete the file \Web Root\Web Name\_vti_pvt\frontpg.lck.
4. Publish the Web.

All the Best
