WMM cannot publish my project. It gets about a third of the way through and
either gets stuck or gives me an error message.

What is your operating system? Vista Home Premium
What version of Moviemaker? 6.0.6.16386
How large is your project? 375 MB
Have you checked your disk space? Yes, and I have 75 gig free.
Have you read about incompatible files? Yes, and even though I am running
Vista, I changed all my .mp3s to .wav files.

So? What's next?

OK, I think I MIGHT have problem 6 in your fixes and workarounds...I muted
the sound on a couple of clips. Am I to understand that I can set the volume
for individual clips and not just the whole movie?

Thank you for a very helpful and informative site, by the way.

yes, you can right click on any audio clip and change its volume....

Interesting! I havn't run into it personally.

Never mind, it didn't work anyway.

Should I try publishing direct to the DVD maker?

Can't hurt to try... you don't need to publish the movie to your hard drive
first... DVD Maker can start with the Movie Maker project file.

More information:

Processor: Intel Core Duo T7100 1.8 GHz
System Type: 32-bit
RAM: 2 GB

Could this be a memory issue?

yes it could be.... my Problem Solving > Can't Save a Movie page is
applicable to Vista's MM6 also.... it has a number of reasons.

I tried the mute versus reduce volume issue last night on a Vista Ultimate
system and didn't run into the problem about saving.
