Can't print from XP Pro

The machine does not detect my printer (HP laserjet 2100).
I install the printer manually put can not print a test
page. The documents are in the queue but don't print out.
Eventaully there is a Error reported under status. I can
print from Windows 98 on the same machine. I also
connected the pronter to another machine and it prints.
