We have an HP 2300 printer installed on a Win98 machine and we are unable to
print to it, through the network, from a Sony notebook with Win2000. When we
installed the printer on the notebook as a network printer, we were unable
to print a test page. We tried installing win2k as a dual boot on the win98
machine and had no trouble printing from the notebook, so we know that it is
possible, but this caused problems with other win98 machines on the network.
We would prefer to have the printer on a win98 OS. We can't install win98 on
the Sony because there aren't any drivers for the hardware. Is it possible
to print from win2000 to a printer on a win98 OS?
