Can't Print Highlighted Text from Outlook

I have a user who has an email in Outlook 2007, when he prints the email on
his HP Deskjet D2400 (local printer), it does not print the highlighted text.
When you go into print preview the highlighted text doesn't show either. I
forwarded the email to his assistant, she then is able to print the document
to his printer and the highlighted text does print. I've checked all Outlook
settings I can think of. Can anyone please advise if there is something I'm
missing?

highlighted as in selected or 'painted' with the highlighter tool?

Who sent him the message? Sometimes Outlook needs to forward or reply to
properly format html tags created in other clients. When this happens it
usually works to hit forward or reply and print.

highlighted as in 'painted" with the highlighter tool. He has forwarded the
message to his assistant who can print it to his printer. Only he can't print
the document with highlighted or painted text.

does it work if he hits reply then prints it himself? If yes, then it’s a
rendering issue; if not then it may be a print setting.
