Can't print emails from outlook sent items

I have a user with Outlook 2002 sp3 & all critical updates for office
installed on XP SP2 who cannot print sent items. He can print emails
from other folders such as the inbox, but when he tries to print an
email from the sent items, nothing happens. There is no error message,
no print job is sent to the printer, and it behaves this way on both the
network printers and the local printer. When I googled this, I found a
tip about IE7 breaking this, but IE7 has never been installed on the
machine so I don't think that is the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.
