Yes. It has been working fine until last week when it stopped printing. I
haven't installed any new software or hardware.

We came across the same problem a couple weeks ago, and I've spent days troubleshooting. E-mails print as you said - only the header and bold characters in the body, although RTF are okay. The same goes for spreadsheets - only bold and lines print. We're printing to a particular networked Dell 1815 (Cpt.) with the PCL 6 installed (through a print server). When we print to another 1815 (LT) with a different driver, it prints okay. I also changed the LT print driver to the same PCL6 without any issues. If we log in to terminal server or on another PC and print to the exact same printer via the server, it comes out okay, which tells me it's the computer.
I downloaded the latest PCL6 from Dell and installed the Cpt. printer local TCP/IP keeping the currently installed driver, but the install failed with the error "Unable to install printer. Print processor does not exist." When I installed the new driver (local), and attempted to print, I got an error that would not debug. I got the same debug error after trying to install the driver via Windows Update (with only the server printer installed). I changed the driver from the PCL6 to the earlier version used by the LT printer, the print comes out flawless.

From the looks of it, this computer does not like the PCL6 for some reason. I know I can change the driver to an earlier version, but that won't solve the problem, just hide it.

I don't know if it's related, but the Users on this PC have a ton of DCOM errors, and it cannot connect to the windows auto updates (via WSUS).
---------------
Yes, I've manually installed the latest Windows and Office updates.

YoJa, have you tried repairing or reinstalling Office/Outlook? The last thing I tried was to repair Office. Although my immediate test failed to print a good copy, I'm now told it's been printing correctly for several days.

Exact same problem! About two weeks ago my ability to print HTML formatted
emails from Outlook 2003 or print anything from IE 7.0 simply stopped working.
No error message, no Event Log notification, nothing.
The print button or File>Print simply doesn't do anything when pressed.
I'm certain it was a Windows Update that did it but I've no idea which one.
I know that the Active X Killbits updates have a known problem with breaking
print controls but I don't have any of those installed for just that reason.

Hi. Has anyone resolved this issue? I have a customer with the exact same
problem that started around 11-06-09 to 18-06-09 depending on when their
PC/Laptop was restarted after some Windows updates. The common denominators
seem to be KB969897, 969898, 968537, 961501 and 970238. I've tried turning on
the reading pane (a suggested fix I found) which worked for a few emails
initially but other than that I have not had any luck.

I've found that when I have KB969897 installed, I can't print HTML and when
I have it removed, I can. This appears to only be a problem on a computer
with Office/Outlook 2003 installed. On another computer with KB969897
installed, but not Office I can print HTML fine.

I posted my findings in microsoft.public.outlook.general - Cant print from
outlook and other problems.

Sorry, but I don't have a fix other than avoid installing this patch.

I have removed KB969897, but I still can not print HTML. Installing IE8
didn't help either.

Another thing you can try that seemed to work for me is:

Go into the Internet Security options and reset all zones back to
their default settings, then
Go into the Outlook Security options and set the Zone to Restricted
Sites.

For whatever reason, this allowed HTML messages to print.
