HP decided your printer was so old that it wasn't economically viable for
them to write updated drivers for it. Microsoft provided drivers on the XP
CD so that you could still use your printer but they may not have all the
extras you were used to.
You can use the shareware at
www.fineprint.com to regain those features or
purchase a new printer which will have all those old features and a whole
lot more.
