There are two accounts on our computer. On one account I can print from
Outlook or the internet. In the other account, my wife's we can print from
the internet but in Outlook we get a message that printing is not available.
there is no printer installed. This just started to occur. We have Vista
home premium and Office Basic 2007.
I've contacted my printer manufacurer, computer manufacturer and Microsoft,
but no one seems to know what to do.

Thanks.

Can you print from her profile in any other Office application? Does the
printer show when you look under the printers option on the start menu?

Hi Milly,
No, I tried printing in Word in her account and received the following
message. "Windows can not print due to a problem with the current printer set
up" We can print from the internet on her account.
Interestingly, Printers does not appear on my wife's start menu but it does
on mine. When I go to control panel on my wife 's account the printer,
(several versions) do appear, and I try to mark the printer as default and to
check the status as ready, but it still doesn't work. Appreciate your help.

Try this. Uninstall the printer and try to re-add the printer. You may
also want to try adding the printer driver under her account.

As this appears to be a problem with all applications in her account, you
may want to post this to a Windows XP hardware group for assistance.

Hi Milly
I'm pretty much a novice so please bear with me. When I tried to uninstall
on my wife's account there was no printer to uninstall that I could find. I
went to device Manager, maybe there is anpther place to go. I them tried to
add a printer and went through the Add Hardware in the control Panel. I went
through the routine using the recommended and existing ports but eventually
got a message that said "Default Printer can not be found" I also tried to
run an HP diagnostic and got a message "Element Not Found." Invalid URI
Format" Interestingly we can still print on er account on the internet.
I'm running Vista. Why would it make sense to post on an XP Board.
Thanks for your interest and help.
