Hi Zhao,

Need for Speed 4 can be run in Windows 98 Compatibility mode
if it's giving you problems in standard mode (instructions will follow),
however it's important to note that it requires the original CD to play,
and that CD must be inserted in the first CD Drive of your system,
and installed from that same CD Drive as well. You should reinstall
the game if you installed it from any CD Drive other than the 1st one.

Besides going to the Windows Update site for everything under Critical .
and Recommended: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com to ensure
that you have installed the latest application compatibility updates which
are now part of the Service Packs, you should also install the N4S patch:
http://www.earacing.com/patch/NFSHSpatch4_50.exe Good luck! :-)

=================================================
To run an installed program using Windows XP's Compatibility Mode,
first right click the program and "Send To..." / Desktop (create shortcut).

1.. Right click on the shortcut to the program.
2.. Click on Properties.
3.. Click on the Compatibility tab.
4.. Click on Run this program in compatibility mode and select one of these:
a.. Windows 95
b.. Windows 98
c.. Windows NT 4
d.. Windows 2000
5.. Under Display settings, check mark the mode that you think that is best:
a.. Run in 256 colors.
b.. Run in 640 X 480 screen resolution.
c.. Disable visual themes.

Click on Apply.Click on Ok.Double click on the program.
