can't play games anymore /wierd error message

Recently, I haven't been able to play some of my games that used to work fine
before.A message, -: '16 bit windows subsystem: ...This file is not
suitable for running MS-DOS applications' comes up .I have a windows XP.Any
help would be appreciated

Hi,

16 bit games are not supported in Windows xp any more. You can try using the
Program Compatibility Wizard found in Start Menu | Accessories and walk
through the wizard to run your programs in earlier modes.
