i can't overclock with my asus a7n8x motherboard. i've booted into bios and
i increased multiplier by 5% but then when i checked my multiplier setting
after reboot it still shows old number. i used one small utility to read my
mobo settings. if anyone has this motherboard and can tell me why this isn't
taking effect and what i should do to get it to work

Pls. post ALL the numbers on your cpu--let's try to determine for sure
if it's multiplier-locked or not.
If it's locked, then there's alternatives w/your fsb. But 1st things
