I can't open the windows security center in the control panel

when I try to open the security center this error pops up "an exception
occurred while trying to run "C:/WINDOWS/system32/shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL
"C:/WINDOWS/system32/wscui.cpl,"Security Center" . Any ideas as to what is
wrong and how to fix? Any help would be appreciated!
