Two weeks ago, this problem arose and I wonder if anyone has had
a similar experience AND if you have found a solution. I spent 3
hours with an internet technician at Bell today to no avail.
When I attempt to open an attachment, both the email and
Inbox screens gray and I see a message saying "to protect
my computer, Data Extention Protection will not allow this
attachment to be opened" (or words to that effect).

Instead of trying to open the attachment directly, from WM, Something that
you should NEVER do, save it to disc>right click it in the folder that you
saved it to, and scan it with your AV Application, then right click and scan
with your anti-malware application, Spybot Search & Destroy or Malwarebytes.
