Hi,

I'm using XP Professional, plenty of ram etc. everything works except when I
go control panel > printers and fax when I click on the folder icon it won't
open and it freezes the control panel and I have to use task manager to shut
the control panel down.

All other folders in the control panel open OK.

I've been having print spooler problems for a couple of weeks and now I
can't print anything. I wanted to go into the folder to check properties and
reinstall printer if necessary.

What am I missing here?

Thanks

Usse System Restore to go back to when it did open, once you can get into
it, uninstall and reinstall the printer as per:

Hi Cari,

I did as suggested it worked - well for a while anyway - then I got a
spooler error and lost everything again.

It's going to be quicker and less stressful to format, the computer is
overdue for one anyway, and it's be squeaky clean and fast again.

I appreciate your assistance.

Thanks

Spooler errors are almost inevitable caused by corrupted printer drivers.
Uninstall and reinstall the printer - correctly.

Omitting Step 4 will only result in a reinstall of the corrupted drivers.
