when my husband now tries to open photos in outlook, microsoft word opens up
and no photos. very bizaare. never had this happen before.

never used microsoft words for opening photos.

Which operating system? save a photo to the hard drive, right click on it
and choose Open with. Select one of the image application (fax viewer is
fast) and check the box to always use this program.
