Hi: How do I open my outlook folders on another computer. I made a copy of my
Outlook folder on a disk, then inserted it in another computer. Both
computers have Outlook 2003 and run Windows XP. When I tried to access my
outlook I got the following message: "the file E:\ backupoutlook.pst is not
compatible with this version of the Personal Folders information service.
Contact your administrator."

When you say "on a disk"; is this a read-only medium such as CD-ROM? PST
files must not be read-only to be opened with Outlook; copy it to the
HD, then remove the read-only attribute before opening it with Outlook.

The error message indicates you're trying to open an Outlook 2003 PST on an
Outlook 2002 or earlier system.

Hi: You were right; I had the other computer checked and it was Outlook2002.
I assume from your response that means that my Outlook2003 folder will not be
able to open on that computer or is there some way around this?

You have a couple of choices: one is to use a computer that has OL 2003 or
2007 on it (or enlist the aid of someone with one of those versions) to
convert the PST to one you can use. Another is to download a trial of
Office 2007, uninstall OL 2002, install OL 2007, perform the conversion,
then uninstall the trial and reinstall OL 2002.
