I have some people who are trying to open the Access 2002 SP2 application.
When they try to create a new database or open a current database, their
receiving the following error message:
Can't Open the Microsoft Jet Engine Workgroup Information File
I uninstalled and reinstalled Access and this error message still occurs.
Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening?

First, the reason this message appears twice in all the postings is because
when I tried it the first time, I looked at the posting some minutes later
and did not see the posting so I thought it did not take and posted it again.
That is the reason why it shows up two times. I apologize for that.

Second, the reason this message appears in the different postings, because
someone responded to me in the Install and Configure and told me to post it
in the Security posting.

I apologize if I caused any confusion in my postings.

Regarding the existing db(s):

Are they opening them by double-clicking the mdb files, or by using a
shortcut?

If the latter, what is the full target of the shortcut?

Are the dbs secured (using Access user-level security), and

What files (if any) with .mdw extensions are on the PC?
