Can't open this item. The property does not exist. The field you want to modify is not valid for this type of item.

Several users on my network are experiencing the following issue when
opening an Assigned Task in outlook:

"Can't open this item. The property does not exist. The field you want
to modify is not valid for this type of item."

This happens in any Outlook client we try (97,2000,XP,2003). Even
opening the users mailbox from another users inbox and trying to view
the task request gives the error.

We have tried setting Outlook as the default editor as opposed to
Word. We have tried moving the users mailbox to another server and the
error still appears.

But if the users experiencing the issue assign a task to someone else
they do not have the problem.

If anyone has found a solution to this problem, please let me know as
I am getting pretty desperate to solve this issue. Thanks!

Did you ever find a fix for this problem? I am experiencing the same error but can not find a fix for it. Please let me know. Thanks.
