Seems like I got this too.
I reckon it happened after I tested firefox.
If I open IE first & then click on a link it is ok.
Looking at assoc in file types etc, it has OPEN set as ...........
"C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\doggy.EXE" -nohome
& if I try to change it, I can't. (or won't stick)
If I right click on the html file I have in my docs & select "open with" &
try ticking the box to "always use this program", & then browse to IE
executable, it just won't turn up in the list of programs.
Scans turn up nothing.
Where the hell is "doggy" coming from?

From what I've been reading here:

http://vil.mcafeesecurity.com/vil/content/v_138654.htm

doggy.EXE is part of a virius infection named W32/HLLP.62128.gen

Try This:

In Internet Options > Programs Page
Check: "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser"
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=284456

Also check your system tray for 'Trojans' here's a good list of startup items.
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

Good Luck
