I am unable to open FP2K on my lap top (I am running XP)..I am receiving the
following message "Microsoft Frontpage application file has encounterd a
proplem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". I have
removed the program and re-installed it. During that process I received the
message "unable to acces configuarion for micsoft personal web server".
However, I also received the confirmation message "Microsoft FrontPage 2000
setup completed successfully". I have used the program before.

If FP2000 an upgrade version, and if yes, did you install FP98 first?

If you feel your current issue is a results of installing
a Service Pack or security update, please contact
Microsoft Product Support Services:
http://support.microsoft.com
If the problem can be shown to have been caused by a
security update, then there is usually no charge for the call.

Just spoke with microsoft. They are requiring a $35 fee even though the
problem was intiated by a download from their website.

I use FP2000 daily under Windows XP SP-2 with all updates with no problems.

However you didn't answer my question about FP98, etc.

I did not install FP98. (I don't have 98, I do have 97 though)...I only
installed 2K. Called MS back and received free assistance. Was able to
re-install to functioning state. Is it now safe to get updates? Want to
create e-commerce website with security features. Looking for updated
templates. Also, need utilities to enhance / magnify product sizes. Thanks.
