Can't Open Folders Direct

When I double-click on a folder say on my C: drive, I get the Search screen.
However if I right click and select Open, the folder opens. When I
double-click on a removable drive I also get the Search screen but again a
right click and Open, opens the drive.

This may be related. When I go into the properties of a removable device and
open up the AutoPlay window, the window under "Select an action to perform"
is an empty white screen with no selections available.

This only recently occurred. Running Windows XP SP2 (with all patches
applied) Pro.

Hi Joe,

Click Start - Run and type the following command, then press enter.

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
