Hi: I've never had a problem with saving Outlook 2002 email messages at
"message format" in Windows Explorer My Documents. Suddenly, when I double
click on a message, all that happens is that the minimized Outlook screen is
maximized and no message appears. I've tried opening the messages from
Outlook, but no response. I guess I should save messages in Outlook folders,
but any ideas on how to open my saved messages?

You should save messages in Outlook folders. Consider that your .pst file
has a maximum of just under 2GB.
If you are trying to save images, do so under My Pictures...

Sounds like you have Google Desktop Search installed.
Update it to the latest version.
