Can't open database main form

I have posted this message on two other Access newsgroups but got no
response, so I thought I would post it here in case I am experiencing a
security problem. I hope I haven't done the wrong things. At any rate, here
goes.

I have developed a database for a client in Microsoft Access 2002 and
transferred it to him by way of an FTP site. The default database file
format is Microsoft Access 2000.

The client loaded the database on his office computer and his home computer.
At the office, he is running Windows XP and Office XP. At home, he is
running Windows 2000 and Office 2000. Office 2000 is fully patched and all
updates have been applied.

After refreshing the links, he was able to access all of the forms and
reports at the office. Everything seems to work fine. At home, however, he
can open the database, open some forms and apparently all of the reports,
but he cannot open the main data input form. Every other form in the
database opens as expected. He has Admins permissions on the database. When
he clicks on frmMain, the form does not open. Instead the database closes.

I sent him instructions about how to check and make sure that Microsoft DAO
3.6 Object Library is registered. I had him Compact and Repair the database.
Even so, he still cannot open the main form, even with Admins permissions.

I also have Microsoft Access 2000 installed on my computer, and I have no
problems running it on Access 2000.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue.

Hi Guy

When you say "Instead the database closes", do you mean that a fatal error
occurs to close the application?

I recall seeing similar problems in A2000 format databases which were
created on A2002, but running on A2000.

I suggest you try re-creating the database in Access 2000:
- start A2000
- create a new database
- import all the objects from your old database to the new one
- open a module and fix the references, then compile

Send your client this new version and see if it solves his problem.
