Sorry I forgot to attach what I see when I try to open certian pages. Well
it want let me copy and paste so I'll try to explain what I see.

OK so I like go to a whirlpool site and want to read something from there
and click on it. It says do you want to open or save this file (A file
download). I click on open but it does not do anything at all. It seems to
try and open it but doesn't. So then I tried clicking on save this file which
I did to my documents. I go to my documents the file is there but it want
let me open the file there either. Sorry my post is such a mess. I hope
someone out there can understand it.

What type of file is it? pdf, doc? Your problem usually indicates you don't
have the required application for opening the file type.

Hi,

In Explorer, click Tools, Folder options, click View tab, uncheck "Hide
extensions for known file types.

What extension does the file(s) you're downloading have? An extension
is the characters after the period, i.e. the extension for document.pdf
is pdf .

If the files are in the PDF format, download and install Foxit Reader here:
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/index.php

and choose the Foxit Reader 3.0 (.exe). It will allow you to open PDF
files.

If the extensions are different, report back what they are.

It is a pdf_auto_ file. Not that I know what that means. I have had my
computer for a little over a year and never had this problem before. I can'tr
help but think it is something I have checked or unchecked somewhere in this
computer. Thank you very much. I'll try anything and keep you posted.

Don't get upset but it's actually "certain", same as "curtain" and
"mountain".

Do you have a pdf reader application installed? If not see Terry's post.

Are there any buttons I can check on my computer or uncheck before
downloading anything else? Thanks.
