Can't move Flag Status column in Outlook 2007

There are old posts about moving the flag status column in Outlook 03, but
I'm using 2007. I delete the column, then add it back in where I want it, and
it returns to the far right instead of where I want it (before 'subject').
Can't use Field Chooser, since flag status doesn't appear in any of the
lists. Could it be related to the fact I'm online with our corporate exchange
server???

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can move the Follow Up Flag column but not the Flag Status column.

Roady,

Thanks for the answer. Any idea why MS would roll back functionality? Having
that flag status where I can see it easier was a great feature of 2003.

I agree. I just got around to installing Outlook 07 today and want my Flag
Status column on the left. It seems to "fall off the screen" when on the
right and is hard to notice. Microsoft are you listening? Don't do away
with good features from the past!

I have this problem too. Flag Status does appear OK in the field chooser
list though - as long as I select "All Contact Fields". The results are
inconsistent however. If I take a standard layout (such as Phone) it will
allow me to move Flag Status to the top of the list and leaves it there - but
it still actually displays in the last column. If I do the same thing with a
layout I've created myself (amd I've put Flag Status in Col 1) it physically
moves Flag Status to the last position in the list as soon as I save it.
Clearly an undocumented MS feature - but how do we switch it off??!!

In 2003 the flag status field is toggled between quick flags and the flags
from older versions in Customize view's Other Settings dialog. Quick flags
are the button the right side where you can click to flag, click to
complete - the older flag format is available if you disable quick flags.
Outlook 2007 doesn't allow you to switch back to the old flag style.

If Outlook 2007 doesn't allow changing to the old flag style, and insists on
putting the flag only in the extreme right hand column regardless of where
the user puts it, then why does Outlook 2007 Online Help tell you that you
can move it to wherever you want? This really can only be a bug, unless I'm
missing something absolutely obvious? Or are you saying that Quick Flags can
be switched off? If so, I can't find that anywhere in the Help system.

And there is a reply to this with the specific problem also at the bottom.

Spoke with MS, and they state this is a bug. They are looking to have this
resolved in Office 2007 SP2. For now there is no hotfix available for this
issue. Categories and Due Date fields could be a possible workaround till
this bug is resolved.
