can't move or delete messages

Hi;

Outlook 2002.

All of a sudden, I can't delete emails or move them between folders. I ge
the following error message:
The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem
persists, restart Outlook.

Even after restarting, the problem is still there.

As part of the problem, there are some messages in the outbox that just
won't go away. I hit the send and receive button and although I get an error
message saying I can't connect to the server and the messages weren't sent,
I can see the messages on the mail server I sent them to so I know they were
sent.

I'm running Norton Internet Security and have tried the email with it
enabled and disabled.
Any ideas ?
