In November 2005 I had Windows XP installed. Previously I had Windows 2000.
Prior to XP being installed I had no problems with Excel. I currently have
Excel 2002. The problem I have, is the worksheet will get "hung up" and I
can't move to another worksheet in the workbook. I can open another workbook
and move around to the various worksheets while the other workbook is "hung
up". Sometimes the new workbook I open will also get "hung up". Eventually
they will get "unhung" and then I can click on the worksheet I need and
proceed. What is causing this problem as this is causing me to slow way
down in my work? What can I do to fix it?

Are the books rather large?

Do you have auto save or auto recovery options activated?

Auto save was on but it only save every 60 minutes. It wasn't during the
auto save that the worksheets got hung up. I have one really large workbook
with alot of pivot worksheets and that one seldom gets hung up. It's my
smaller workbooks that are getting hung up. I went in and disable auto
save to see if this helps.
