I am using intellipoint 6.1 with my new Dell optical mouse under Windows Vista.
When I assign "double-click" to the wheel button it has no effect except to
turn off the button operation, even thought it appears to accept the
assignment without an error.
Please advise.

Try contacting Dell tech support, or perhaps post in the Vista group?
