On a machine loaded with WIn XP Pro. I can't login as admin after I
installed AVG free edition. The windows seems to have been locked up
on its own. Formerly the machine would just load the OS without
asking. Since AVG install, the login pane appears. You see admin alone
there. Click on the admin tab and you see "loading your settings"
appear for a while. Then you see "logging off admin." I tried to login
in Safe Mode. It is possible. I tried setting a password for the admin
(in Sate Mode) and trying logging in using password. Nothing happens.
What's the way out?

Hi Cheng,

In Safe Mode either remove AVG and/or use a system restore point.

Added info:

1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, left click "your user name" then clear the Users Must
Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer check box and then click
OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the "user name
and password" for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.
