Can't login to secure sites

All,

I have a question. I use IE 6.0. I have access to the
internet via a broadband connection that works fine.

I am trying to access some secure websites via a login
page. But when I click on the login icon from the web
page, I get back a security alert window box (which i
click "ok" on) and then I get the standard "The Page
cannot be displayed" page everytime. Doesn't matter
which web site it is. Very weird. Any idea what might
be causing this and how to fix it?

Many thanks in advance.
