Hello,

Thank you in advance to all who can help with this issue. I can't log onto
any of the accounts on my Windows XP Media Center 2005 computer in normal
mode. I have been able to log onto all accounts in safe
mode with networking.

When I boot my computer in normal mode the welcome screen displays my single
account. When I click on that icon it begins to log on and proceeds to log
off a moment later. When I press Ctrl + Alt + Delete twice in order to log on
as Administrator I get the same result.

I booted my computer with the Windows XP Media Center 2005 installation CD
and selected the "R" repair option. This did not solve the problem. Does
anyone else have experience with this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?

Since you can log onto any of the accounts in Safe Mode, something you
have starting with Windows in Regular Mode must be causing the issue. Do
clean-boot troubleshooting to find out what.

things worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

Thank you Elmo. I narrowed the search to 5 results using the following
technique. If you want two or more words to be used as a phrase in a search,
enclose them in quotation marks. The url encoded quotation mark is %22. Thus,

One of the results proved relevant to the issue of XP logging off
immediately after login. I am also following up on the solutions that Malke
proposed.
