I have been trying to solve this problem whole day still
finding no solution.

I've been using MSN Messgr. 6.0 for a while now.
After I upgraded to 6.1 and now it won't let me on the
service. I get the message:

"We were unable to sign you in to .NET MEssenger
Service, possibly because of a problem with the sercie
or with your Internet connection. Please make sure
that you are connected to the Internet. 0x81000301"

Under the help menu, it says the service is working
fine. I also have a net connection. I can log in to
my hotmail just fine. I've restarted the
computer, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the
program, I have followed Johnathan's 8 steps, I have also
tried to register a new net passport account, and nothing
is working. Any ideas out there?

Thanks for any help.

Greetings Amy,

Do you happen to have any type of software firewall or internet "anonymous" software
installed (Steganos Internet Anonym. comes to mind)?

Hi Amy,

Try signing on with another application that supports the .NET Messenger (the same network
that Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger use), for example, Trillian Basic:

Yahoo Messenger and ICQ work fine but MSN Messenger
isn't...

Hi Amy,

What I'm asking is, can you connect to the .NET Messenger network using Trillian?
