I Have 2 computers one with xp and one with windows me.I
have the xp as the host and have no problems logging on
but on my other computer(the one with windows me) when i
try to see my network by clicking on the network icon i
get an error message sayindg i dont have permission to log
on to the network. Now everything works as far as sharing
folders and stuff on the xp meaning i can share from the
windows me puter and see it under the my network.I have
norton firewall installed on both and xp's firewall turned
off but i have to turn it off when iwant to connect to the
client computer, but after im connected i can turn it back
on and no problems i problably have to reconfigure that
but when i try and connect to the xp computer from the me
computer i cant so i canted share nothing from the host to
client only from client to host.I also have a router with
a firewall but i cant configure that one.Now could these
firewalls be preventing me from logging on?I have tried
with the firewalls off and no luck.I dont need a password
to log on either as i'm the owner but on windows me i dont
have admin privelages. How do i fix this or could it be a
hardware conflict as i have 2 different ethernet cards on
each computer the me has a linksy ether fast 10/100 lan
card and the xp came with realtek RTL8139/810 family
family fast ethernet NIC.I have all the adaptors installed
on both.
