Cant log on with Netmeeting

I cant log on to ils server using netmeeting, it used to
work altho was sometimes a bit temperamental,cant work
how to ping the server using windows XP, nor does telnet
offer correct options as per troubleshoot , any ideas
anyone? Thanks Tosh
