I have the same exact problem and I also do not know how to fix it. I haven't
found anyone to help me so far on line. We both have the exact same problem.
Where do we go next?

I can not log to msn, too. And I can read the same number: 80048820.
I checked the firewall and tried to do everything, but msn still does not
work.
Just a note: msn was active when I got 7.5 version of it.

I can sign into MSN Explorer but my msn messenger keeps going off. Up to
yesterday I could reboot to get it back but now its gone off altogether. I
have sent an email to MSN and now waiting for a reply. I will let you know
if they reply.

I had the same problem....couldn't sign in, said MSN was temporarily
unavailable, and delay in the signin field...type characters and several
seconds for it to show up.......I've spent two days figuring this out...hope
it helps for you. I followed every possiblity suggested and none
worked......even help from Microsoft.

It appears that with MSN 7.5 there is a problem with compatability between
MSN and the firewall provided in Xp......I installed the 90 day free trial
version of Norton and where recommended, allowed Norton antiworm to replace
the Xp firewall. Once I ran a scan (no virus was found) I was able to sign
into MSN without any further problem.
Hope it works for you...so very frustrating.

I'm having the same problem. But it appears when I install Corel Draw
Software (I've tried both 12 and X3 versions). After installing Corel Draw,
my MSN Messenger didn't log me, and there was a big delay while I type my
login and my password.
When I try to conect my Gmail Account, an error message appears, elling that
I have to activate the Active X options at the tools menu of the internet
explorer. Even enabling the active X features, nothing changes. I have to
restaure the system to an earlyer point to use the computer without Corel
Draw (unistalling doesn't fix the problem).
Anyone can help me?
