I cannot open a genealogy generated html file to edit it because I think it
is beyond the 32k line limit.
My FP2000 SR1 program freezes and I must CTL-Alt-DELETE to get back into it.

Is there a work around for these large html files

Stephan,

Sorry for the double post. I thought there might be a different group of
people here and a different response.

One more question...would a more current version of FP be able to handle
these large files?

Hi Stephan,

In a previous message you mentioned that I should " split your file in a 3rd
party editor"
Being a newbie to a lot of webpaging I wonder if you could please explain to
me what this means.

Thanks,
Ted

Try opening a copy of it in Notepad and deleting some rows
Then open another copy and delete some other rows
Then File Import both new shorter versions into FP

Hi Stephan,

Yes, that is what I thought. I gave it a try, but there no lines I can
delete.
I tried saving half the file in Notepad, renaming it, then opening it in FP.
Then doing the same with the other half.
However this is still a long and tedious process. Not exactly my cup of tea.

I will look for another way to produce my genealogy reports. There are one
or two other programs that also produce reports in html format.

Thanks again for all your help & suggestions.

Ted
