Cant Install wc3 help please

Hi I just bought a HP Laptop=2.0ghz, Vista 32 bit
I checked the solutions. They say to run it on compatiablity wtih Xp service
pack 2 and run as administrator. however, it loads up the screen and once i
press Install Warcraft3, it just freezes over. what can i do? can i install
XP on to this laptop or will it have a negative impact on my computer?
