Can't install

I can't install Microsoft Photo Info 1.0. I get the following message:

"There is a problem with this installer package. A program run as part
of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel
or package vendor." Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to find out
which program didn't run correctly.

The vendor, of course, is Microsoft. This was a download from their site.

Has anyone else experienced this?

One of the MVPs got replied on another list about this. I did what he
suggested, and it didn't work. Pertinent correspondence includes:

I did all that, and it still resulted in the same error message. I'm
planning to get a new computer (with Vista) in the summer, and I'll try
it again.

Notes/questions:

- I set up Windows to load the installer service in the safe mode (KB
3895141) in Administrator mode, tried the install after a normal reboot,
and then went back into Administrator/safe mode and deleted that
MSIServer key that I set up. I would think I'm back to "normal" now.
- I assume there's no need to run ERDNT, to restore the backup point
that I created with ERUNT.

Please let me know if I did anything wrong, especially the simple
deletion of the MSIServer key.

You may want to pass this on to the appropriate folks in Microsoft. If
none of this worked, there has to be a problem with the .msi file.

============================
I've seen a few reports that installing
..NET Framework 3.0 could clear up
the issue.

Microsoft .NET Framework
3.0 Redistributable Package

Good luck...if you decide to try it...let
us know the result.
