can't install security update Q811114

After reformatting my hard drive (to NTFS) and re-installing
WinXP Pro with Norton AV, Norton System Works 2003,
and Norton Personal Firewall, I cannot complete the installation
of all the WinXP Critical Security Updates. There are 16
updates to download and install, but after installation of the
first two, installation of Q811114 slows to a creep and never
completes - even after 2 hours and 15 minutes. Is it time to
re-format and start over, or is there some conflict with Q811114
that can be resolved? Thanks for any help.

Do you have IIS installed on the machine? Thats what the patch is for. Is
it possible that you have IIS installed and already open to the web? If so,
disable the IIS services and AV and reinstall the patches.

Voila! You da Man! I mucked around and turned off IIS Services
in the startup list (via Run msconfig), and the series of Critical Updates
and WinXP updates all installed. Thanks for your help.
