Hello

I have not been able to install a Brother DCP 115C printer/scanner and the
company does not even try to help (no replies to emails and a site that
isn't worth a toss)

Anyway, the installation stops at 50% and a look at the Windows logs seems
to suggest that it is at a moment when the spooler service is called upon.

I had an error when the spooler turned itself off and tried to turn itself
back on (automatically) but was already being used by another application
(no doubt the install application) so I turned off automatic restart.

Now it just stops after sending data to spooler.

This has gone on for three weeks and there is nothing on the NET.

It's like everyone gets to install it without trouble except me.

Any ideas please?

got that problem when I upgraded to sp2 lost the spooler
had to a repair install of windows xp to get it back

Hi

I did upgrade but ages ago and everything worked fine until my old printer
broke down.

I do have a type of printer installed to print .pdf files and as it is the
only printer left, it is my default printer.

I wonder if the command to spooler is being redirected to the pdf printer.

Does anyone have any ideas here?
