I replaced windows 2000 with XP home and updated with SP2 -
all seemed OK.
I noticed that my refresh rate was causing problems so
looked at installing the Dell monitor driver.
Couldn't find the disk (still can't) but downloaded the
driver from the net.
Install instructions are quite straight forward - the
problem is that I don't have the tabs displayed under the
setting for the monitor i.e no properties. It is greyed
out.
Any one know how I get the properties tab to become
accessible?

This seems to indicate that you are logged in with less than Administrator
privileges. Make sure that you log in as Administrator and try again.
