can't install network printer

I am having a little trouble installing my old Samsung ML-1450 laserprinter.
I had no trouble using windows 2000. but vista gives me the error "windows
can not connect to printer" I am using a netgear Print server model ps 101
.. Should I see if there is a firmware update for the server? I still want
this to work with the windows 2000 systems if I do a firmware upgrade.
